Positron Telecommunication Systems Inc. – G-Series Gateways User GuideSystem -> Maintenance -> Reset to Defaults TabClicking this tab allows the option of performing either a Hard Reset or Soft Reset.A hard reset restores the ORIGINAL FACTORY SETTINGS to the Gateway, eliminatingALL user settings entered since configuration began including backups. However, anynew firmware installed will be retained.A Soft Reset will have the same effect, but retains any backups created.These operations will disconnect all current calls and should not be doneduring operating hours.NOTE: The Web Interface will not be available until the system hasbeen reset.• Its IP address will be reset to 192.168.1.2• The username is admin• The password is password.NOTE: Any backup file stored on the notebook’s local file system, orthe G-Series Gateway may need to be restored.• See: System -> Maintenance -> Backups tabNOTE: When a backup has been restored, the IP address, usernameand password will return to their configured values.‣ To perform a hard reset of the system• Backup the configuration if necessary.• Click Hard Reset• A confirmation dialog box will allow the reset to be performedor cancelled.32VoIPon www.voipon.co.uk sales@voipon.co.uk Tel: +44 (0)1245 808195 Fax: +44 (0)1245 808299

The system will be resetwhen the unit’s red LED above the circle icon on the frontpanel glows continuously.• Enter the Web Interface default address of 192.168.1.2 inthe browser as well as the default username admin andsystem password of password.‣ To perform a soft reset of the systemNOTE: Backups of the configuration will remain intact.• Click Soft Reset• A confirmation dialog box will allow the reset to be performedor cancelled.• Click OK in the dialog box to reset the system to its defaultsettings.• The system will display a countdown.
