A rich scientific and cultural lifeAll in all, the fellowship was a great success: not only did it forgea close bond between two universities that still endures waybeyond the fi nal stages of Catalysts Tomography several yearsago, but it also helped Dr Hungría’s lab in Cadiz take the fi rststeps towards this innovative imaging method. And what aboutDr Hungría herself? Has she benefi ted to the same extent?Absolutely, she says: ‘The results from an academic point ofview have really had a great influence in my professionallife, allowing me to find a position at the university of mychoice. And the experience of living in another country andin a city like Cambridge, with such an incredible cultural life, has surely enriched me as a person.‘I got to know British culture and also saw how scientifi c workis done there,’ Dr Hungría adds. ‘Without the help of this kindof fellowship you would stay in your own country throughoutyour career. And it’s very important for your life as an adultto know that there are different places where people live andwork in a different way.’Project acronymCatalysts TomographyFull project title3-dimensional reconstruction of catalysts by scanningtransmission electron tomographyType of grantIntra-European FellowshipBudgetEUR 159 613Duration of project01-01-2006 - 31-12-2007Scientific disciplineChemistryHost institutionUniversity of CambridgeProf. Paul A.
