Bager AKBAY<br />

Born in 1976 in Istanbul, studied<br />

Visual Communication Design<br />

at Yildiz Technical University<br />

and Interface Cultures at Linz<br />

University of Arts. Bager was an<br />

actor and a puppeteer in Dark<br />

Theatre, Istanbul, has been<br />

worked as a lecturer for 6 years<br />

in his field, and eager to live his<br />

life between art and science as<br />

an experimentalist. Bager Akbay<br />

is currently teaching Interactive<br />

Media at Plato College of Higher<br />

Education,Istanbul and working<br />

as the director of the Plato Media<br />

Lab.<br />

Bager was een acteur en een poppenspeler<br />

in Dark Theatre en is<br />

zes jaar lang werkzaam geweest<br />

als docent in zijn vakgebied. Hij<br />

kijkt ernaar uit om zich te richten<br />

op kunst en wetenschap. Bager<br />

Akbay geeft les in interactieve<br />

media aan de Plato Hogeschool,<br />

Istanbul en is directeur van Plato<br />

Media Lab.<br />

1976, İstanbul doğumlu Bager Akbay,<br />

Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi’nde<br />

İletişim Tasarımı ve Linz Sanat<br />

Üniversitesi’nde Interface Cultures<br />

eğitimi aldı. Bager, İstanbul, Kara<br />

Tiyatro’da aktör ve kuklacı olarak<br />

yaptığı çalışmaların ardından 6<br />

yıldır kendi alanında çeşitli üniversitelerde<br />

ders vermekte ve yaşamını<br />

sanat ve bilim arasında deneyselci<br />

bir şekilde sürdürmektedir. Bager<br />

Akbay, şu anda İstanbul, Plato Meslek<br />

Yüksekokulu’nda Görsel İletişim<br />

program başkanlığını yürütmekte<br />

ve Plato MediaLab’ın yöneticiliğini<br />

yapmaktadır.<br />

Özlem ALKIŞ<br />

After completing her dance training<br />

at “ex.e.r.ce”, run by Centre<br />

Chorégraphique National de Montpellier,<br />

Özlem Alkış was invited to<br />

“essais” choreographic research program<br />

at Centre National de Danse<br />

Contemporaine d’Angers between<br />

2005 and 2006 with the grant of<br />

French State. In August 2010, she<br />

participated in “Performing Politics”<br />

Hamburg International Summer<br />

Academy with DAAD grant. She has<br />

been invited to research residencies<br />

at Tanzquartier Vienna and Récollets,<br />

International Residence Program in<br />

Paris in <strong>2012</strong>. Currently she is organizing<br />

series of workshops in Istanbul<br />

with invited guest choreographers to<br />

extend the notion of work, choreography<br />

and dance-making through<br />

critical discourse.<br />

Having danced in the works of<br />

Loïc Touzé, Deborah Hay, Emre<br />

Koyuncuoğlu and Sabine Jamet,<br />

Özlem’s own works are presented in<br />

various venues of Europe. She is one<br />

of the co-founders of amber Art and<br />

Technology Platform and Çatı Contemporary<br />

Dance Artists Association<br />

in Istanbul.<br />

Montpellier, werd Özlem Alkis<br />

uitgenodigd om een choreografisch<br />

onderzoeksprogramma bij<br />

het Centre National de Danse<br />

Contemporaine d'Angers, dat<br />

werd opgezet tussen 2005 en<br />

2006 met subsidie van Frankrijk.<br />

In augustus 2010 volgde ze (met<br />

een DAAD beurs) "Performing<br />

Politics’ aan de Hamburg International<br />

Summer Academy. Ze<br />

is uitgenodigd om onderzoek te<br />

doen binnen Tanzquartier Wenen<br />

en Recollets, International<br />

Residence Programma in Parijs<br />

in <strong>2012</strong>. Momenteel organiseert<br />

zij workshops in Istanbul met<br />

gast-choreografen. Ze heeft<br />

gedanst in stukken van Loïc<br />

TOUZÉ, Deborah Hay, Emre<br />

Koyuncuoğlu en Sabine Jamet<br />

op diverse locaties in Europa. Ze<br />

is een van de mede-oprichters<br />

van Amber Kunst en Technologie<br />

Platform en CATI Contemporary<br />

Dance Artists Association<br />

in Istanbul.<br />

amacı ile atölyeler organize<br />

etmektedir.<br />
