Ebru Kurbak is an artist, researcher
and educator, currently based in Vienna.
Her works deal with cultural
and psychological implications of
body-technology-space relations.
In her recent works, she has been
designing body-worn technologies
and exploring their instrumental,
aesthetic and semiotic potentials.
She has shown her work in international
platforms such as the Ars
Electronica Festival, Siggraph, and
FILE Festival among others. Ebru
studied architecture at the Istanbul
Technical University. After graduating,
she worked as a lecturer at the
Departments of Visual Communication
Design and Photography and
Video in the Istanbul Bilgi University.
She currently teaches at the Department
of space&designstrategies in
the University of Arts and Industrial
Design in Linz.
Ebru Kurbak is een kunstenaar, onderzoeker
en onderwijzer, en woont
in Wenen. Haar werken behandelen
culturele en psychologische implicaties
van lichaam-technologie-ruimte
verhoudingen. In haar recente werken
ontwierp ze op het lichaam gedragen
technologieën en verkent ze
hun instrumentale, esthetische en
semiotische potentieel. Ze heeft haar
werk getoond op internationale platformen
zoals o.a. het Ars Electronica
Festival, Siggraph en FILE Festival.
Ebru studeerde architectuur aan de
Technische Universiteit van Istanbul.
Vervolgens werkte ze als docent
aan de departementen van Visual
Communication Design en fotografie
en video aan de Istanbul Bilgi
Universiteit te Istanbul. Ze doceert
momenteel aan de afdeling space &
designstrategies aan de University
of Arts and Industrial Design in Linz.
Ebru KURBAK
Ebru Kurbak iyana’da yaşamakta
olan bir sanatçı, araştırmacı ve
eğitimcidir. Çalışmaları genellikle
günümüz beden-teknoloji-mekan
ilişkilerinin kültürel ve psikolojik
etkilerini ele alır. Son dönem çalışmalarında
giyilebilir teknolojiler
tasarlamakta ve bu teknolojilerin
enstrümental, estetik ve semiyotik
potansiyellerini sorgulamaktadır.
İşleri Ars Eletronica Festivali, Siggraph,
FILE Festivali gibi uluslararası
platformlarda sergilenmiştir.
Ebru İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi’nde
mimarlik eğitimi aldı. Mezun
olduktan sonra İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi
Görsel İletişim Tasarımı
ile Fotoğraf ve Video Bölümlerinde
öğretim görevlisi olarak çalıştı.
Halen Linz Sanat ve Endüstriyel
Tasarım Üniversitesi Mekan ve Tasarım
Stratejileri Bölümü’nde ders
vermektedir.

ve tabandan yukarıya
