After providing the logging type and backup image details, you can click on the Run button<br />

as shown in Figure 3.26 to configure the required logging. As always, close the editor when<br />

you are done <strong>with</strong> the task.<br />

3.5 Backing up and recovering databases<br />

Backups allow the database to be recovered in case of crash or database failure. Backups<br />

also allow you to move complete databases from one location to another. You can take the<br />

backup of a database and recover it in the same or a different compatible system;<br />

however, not all system combinations are supported. For more details on system<br />

3.5.1 Backup<br />

You can create a backup of your database using <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong>. The database can be<br />

restored at a later point in time by using this backup.<br />

To create a backup of a database:<br />

1. In the Administration Explorer, right-click the database that you want to back up select<br />

Back Up and Restore -> Backup, as shown Figure 3.27.<br />
