1. Right-click the SimpleService web service and select Build and Deploy, as shown in<br />

Figure 10.16. This opens the Deploy Web Service window (Figure 10.17).<br />

2. As shown in Figure 10.17, select the WebSphere Application Server Community<br />

Edition version 2 (all releases) web server type, and select the Server option to indicate<br />

that you want to deploy the web service directly to an application server. From the<br />

Server drop down box, select the WAS CE you configured previously.<br />

3. Select the Register database connection <strong>with</strong> Web server option. This selection<br />

triggers the automatic creation of a data source configuration <strong>for</strong> your database <strong>with</strong><br />

your web service and eliminates the need to per<strong>for</strong>m this setup step manually.<br />

4. Select REST and SOAP as the message protocols. You may notice that you cannot<br />

select JMS. You need Optim Development <strong>Studio</strong> to use the JMS (Java Message<br />

Service) binding.<br />

5. Keep the settings in the Parameters section.
