Appendix C – Installing the <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong> administration<br />

client<br />

This Appendix is included <strong>for</strong> those people who would like to use the <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong><br />

administration client. As described in Chapter 1, the administration client is designed <strong>for</strong><br />

database administrators who have no need <strong>for</strong> Java, web services, or XML development<br />

capabilities and who like the smaller footprint provided by this package.<br />

C.1 Be<strong>for</strong>e you begin<br />

Please remember to read the system requirements be<strong>for</strong>e you download. It references<br />

important in<strong>for</strong>mation like Java Runtime versions, Linux download tips, etc. For example,<br />

<strong>for</strong> machines that have never run Java, you will need a JRE of 1.6 or higher <strong>for</strong> the<br />

installer, which is InstallAnywhere (ISMP)-based. This allows the installer to launch.<br />
