3.You can now grant web console access rights to the users of the repository<br />

database. Click Grant, and then specify an ID and select the type <strong>for</strong> an existing<br />

user, group, or role. You can then select the following types of privilege to grant the<br />

ID on the web console:<br />

Administrator<br />

A user <strong>with</strong> the Administrator role can do any task in the web console, including<br />

setup tasks, such as configuring logs, managing privileges, and adding database<br />

connections.<br />

Operator<br />

This role is not used <strong>with</strong> <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong> web console<br />

Viewer<br />

A user <strong>with</strong> the Viewer role has limited rights on the web console. The user can<br />

view all pages, but cannot add database connections, configure logs, or manage<br />

privileges.<br />

The console security page only lets you configure access to the web console <strong>for</strong> users that<br />

already exist on the repository database. To add users, groups, and roles to that database<br />

you must have the appropriate access to the database. For in<strong>for</strong>mation on how to add new<br />

users to the repository database, see Chapter 2.5.1 Creating users.<br />

B.3.2 Granting privileges to users of the web console<br />

When you have granted web console access to the users, groups, and roles that need<br />

access, you can configure Can Do privileges to per<strong>for</strong>m tasks using the web console<br />

individually <strong>for</strong> each user, group, or role of the repository database. The privileges are set<br />

on either the database on which a task such as health monitoring is done, or on the
