the appropriate backups to be used <strong>for</strong> recovering the database. For this example,<br />

select the Restore the entire database option, as shown in Figure 3.33.<br />

RESTORE andRECOVER are two different commands.RECOVER, as we will see in a later<br />

section, provides a simplified command to per<strong>for</strong>m aRESTORE followed by a<br />

ROLLFORWARD command.<br />

You can specify whether you want to manually specify the backup image location, or if<br />

you want to select from the list that <strong>DB2</strong> has maintained in a history file. If the system<br />

where the backup resides is the same as the one that you want to restore to, and you<br />

have not manually moved the backup files, you will see the backup images in the list.<br />

However, if you have moved the image manually, you can select that location<br />

manually.<br />

4. Figure 3.34 shows how to select an image from a list that was generated by <strong>DB2</strong>. You<br />

can select one of the images to restore.
