To create a new database connection, follow the steps in Chapter 2.<br />

After you create the connection, configure the database connection by right-clicking the<br />

database name in the <strong>Data</strong> Source Explorer view and selecting Analyze and Tune -><br />

Configure <strong>for</strong> Tuning -> Guided Configuration as shown in Figure 7.3. When you select<br />

Guided Configuration, <strong>DB2</strong> <strong>for</strong> Linux, UNIX, and Windows databases are configured<br />

automatically. This configuration includes the creation of the <strong>DB2</strong> EXPLAIN tables, if they<br />

don’t already exist. To learn more about EXPLAIN tables in <strong>DB2</strong> V10.1, read the following<br />

Note:<br />

If EXPLAIN tables exist on a database, you might need to migrate them to the current<br />

version or <strong>for</strong>mat. You must have certain authorities and privileges to migrate EXPLAIN<br />

tables. See the following topic in the <strong>Data</strong> <strong>Studio</strong> In<strong>for</strong>mation Center <strong>for</strong> the required<br />

authorities and privileges:<br />
