An example of the Statistics Advisor recommendation details are shown in Figure 7.18.<br />

• RUNSTATS commands stored on data server contains the previous RUNSTATS<br />

commands stored in the statistics profile; otherwise, this area will be blank.<br />

• Recommended RUNSTATS commands contains new recommended RUNSTATS<br />

commands. The advisor is able to recommend statistics it deems to be missing that the<br />

<strong>DB2</strong> optimizer can make use of to improve the query access plan. These<br />

recommended statistics can include distribution statistics and column groups <strong>for</strong> base<br />

tables and materialized query tables.<br />

• Statistics Advisor report contains more details on the recommendation.
