ORDERING IN�ORMATION CUSTOMISED PROGRAMME �ORMATION The design and construction of switches gives flexibility for making customised programmes within a very short time. Basically an engineer trying to specify the customised programme should concentrate on the following points : (a) Number of operating positions of switch handle (b) Total number of contacts required (c) contacts sequence in various positions of handle. Please Note :- (a) Each position should be idenitfied and marking required in those postions should be specified. The possible latching angles (angle between positons) is 30 o , 45 o , 60 o , 90 o . Spring returns are also possible for upto half the latching angle. (b) Total number of contacts can be decided based on the actual need. You may arrange to your convenience and number them as 1/2, 3/ 4, 5/6.... While making the switch, we may rearrange the contacts to use solid jumpers to avoid loose wire jumpers (c) Fill up the programme sheet by marking ‘X’ at places where contacts have to close. For example, refer sketches given below: Contacts remain closed Two contacts make before break Spring return to RUN from STOP & START (d) Fourth step is to decide the switch type (Ampere Rating). Refer Technical Data. (e) Decide the mounting style. Refer overall dimensions (f) Decide handle, front plate and other accessories. Refer overall dimensions. 3/64 3
3 3/65 ORDERING IN�ORMATION CUSTOMISED PROGRAMME �ORMATION An example of a customised programme to switch a tubelight fan and nightlamp in all practical combinations is illustrated here After filling in the format, use the following checklist to ensure complete data (1) Switch angle specified (2) Terminal numbers indicated (3) Positions markings indicated both in script (4) Lockable position indicated (Only for lockable switches) (5) Switch type specified (Ampere rating) (6) Mounting specified The above constructions carries a 5 digit number starting with from 7 (7...) alloted by us (Column8). This number alone is sufficient for future correspondence and futher ordering
