Renewable Energy <strong>Development</strong> only permitted where adverse impact on<br />
the following is considered acceptable:<br />
• Public safety, human health, or residential amenity<br />
• Visual amenity and landscape character<br />
• Biodiversity, nature conservation or built heritage interests<br />
• <strong>Local</strong> natural resources, such as air quality or water quality<br />
• Public access to the countryside.<br />
Existing <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Plan</strong><br />
The existing <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> (BMAP) reiterates an objective of the RDS<br />
which emphasises the importance of cutting environmental costs<br />
generally by reducing the consumption of natural resources through<br />
increasing the contribution that renewable energy can make to the<br />
overall energy mix.<br />

The Draft Community <strong>Plan</strong> contains one relevant outcome:<br />
