In creating the design, it may be necessary to work by trial <strong>and</strong> error, cutting <strong>and</strong><br />

recutting, twisting <strong>and</strong> turning, <strong>and</strong> doing all that is necessary to produce the most desirable<br />

arrangement. If a flower is too long, it should be cut back. Some leaves may have to be<br />

removed. Flowers may have to be repositioned in the floral block. It is critical that all<br />

cuts be made under water. It is also important to the display that all of the flowers <strong>and</strong><br />

foliage appear to begin from a common spot. Examples of designs are shown in<br />

Figure 24–5.<br />
