Contractions<br />

When two words are put together to <strong>for</strong>m one word, it is called a contraction.<br />

Notice that some of the letters are left out and they are replaced with an<br />

apostrophe.<br />

Look at the contractions below. Write the two words that were combined. Then<br />

write the letters that were replaced with an apostrophe. The first one has been<br />

done <strong>for</strong> you.<br />
