EASY, because of some of "us guys" ludicrous comments!YOU "LUNKDHEAD". (Just
kidding Kent, boy do I MISS MOE!).As I said before I agree JERRY QUARRY would
KAYO BOB FOSTER, MUCH LIKE FRAZIER DID! I wonder why those two never got it on?
I Heard Jerry made the FOSTER entourage walk around him on his way to the ring
in 72'.When I lived in Vegas. I do not know about the truth of that (don't they
come out like 20 minutes later from the last bout?).Ali-Quarry II THAT IS,Iknow
Foster had a lot to do in promoting JERRY on his crusierweight comeback in 1983,
when he kayoed Guerra,HEY KENT HERES A QUESTION FOR YOU, WAS THAT AT
ALBUQUERQUE'S CIVIC AUDITORIUM 8-31-83? Foster's old stomping grounds??|
LAS VEGAS WHEN HE WAS RETIRED,HE HAD A SINGING GIG AT CAESARS PALACE CALLED
"JERRY QUARRY WITH PLEASURE" AND BARTENDED AT THEY NEARBY "STAGE DOOR". I THINK
I WAS LIVING IN LAUGHLIN,NV. AT THE TIME.WHERE THEY HAD HIM DOWN AT THE
"EDGEWATER" ALAS I HAD TO WORK.WE AT QUARRYVILLE DO HAVE A TENDACY TO TREAT
JERRY AS A LITTLE SUPERHUMAN. HOWEVER I SUFFER FROM THE AFFLICTION,"STOOGEIDIS".
AS WELL AS KENT, TAKE CARE.|
my uncle Jerry sing on many occasions, and i think he was a great singer and one
song that sticks in my mind is "A Closer Walk with Thee".Uncle Jerry was the
best at everything he did. And him and my father James would be very proud to
see this website still going strong. Thank you to all the fans of this site and
please lets keep it going for the memory of Jerry and James....Dad and Uncle
Jerry i miss you with all my heart and i will love you both always in my heart
forever.Looking forward to seeing you in the afterlife...Keep Punching!!!!!!|
these tidbits of info we occasionally get on this site, mostley from Jimmy D. and
Kent, about Jerry's life outside the ring.I've allways somehow identified with
his life {wishfull thinking}I don't know the phycological reasons behind that.I
do know that he gave my friends and I, who gathered in front of tvs or went to
the Cherry Hill Collusiem,{long since burned down,} alot of enjoyment, and
dissapointment, during the late 60's and early 70's.He held our interest and
attention, and maybe mirrored our aspirations, like no other heavywieght of those
wonderfull decades could. |
and I arrived late for a closed circiut ,and very expensive in those days, live
broadcast of Jerry Quarry vs Earnie Shavers. As we fought our way down the isle
to our row of seats,we could hear the fighters being announced. We couldn't see
the screen yet because everyone was still standing up.As we got to our row,the
fight started,NOBODY was sitting down.We had to force our way down the row to
our seats. We could hear the KO taking place. When we reached our seats it was
over!Watching the replays just wasn't the same as seeing it live.Still,it was a
great night out with my friends.A memory for a lifetime.|
