____ A Japanese cultivar with sturdy growth; leaves are bigger and<br />
deep dark red, the blood-red young new shoots provide a very<br />

pensylvanicum (= striatum) - Moosewood, Snakebark Maple<br />
____ A 6 to <strong>12</strong> m tall tree or tree-like shrub with well-defined 3-lobed<br />
leaves, turning a clean yellow in autumn. Bark is striking with<br />
green and white stripes. A specimen plant that enjoys shady<br />
areas; very impressive in winter due to its bark colouration. S.<br />
