____ Growing up to 1.5 m tall, with slightly overhanging, thornless
sprigs and few, branching, main shoots; flowers are orange-red;
fruits yellow to yellowish-orange, almost to the size of an apple
or quince, ripening early September to mid-October, with a higher
content in vitamin C than lemons and twice as much pectin as
apples – a cultivar from Latvia, termed as the “Northern lemon”
planted for the production of juices, jams, fruit pastes, jelly, dessert
wines, liquor etc. B, H, Z. Zone 5a. Plant Breeders’ rights
