____ Up to 20 m tall tree with a umbrella-like crown when older and
loosely distributed branches having more or less dense, shiny
bronze-red thorns; leaves simple or bi-pinnate, light green turning
golden yellow in autumn; flowers greenish and inconspicuous;
fruits up to 40 cm long, scimitar-shaped, shiny dark bronze,
remain long through the winter - an especially lovely and undemanding
tree for parks and streets. D, R, S, St. Zone 6a.
