‘Casa Rural María Luisa’, ‘Casa Emblemática Allureh’
and ‘Casa Tajinaste’ are the latest accommodation
establishments to have been added to the
Gran Canaria Natural & Active Association. With
these latest additions, there are now 32 rural
lets (comprising 7 hotels and 25 houses) that are
under the guise of Gran Canaria Natural & Active,
the official Gran Canaria Tourist Board brand
designed to promote the range of natural tourism
on the island, as well as establishments linked to
gastronomy, archaeology and culture.
Casa Rural María Luisa is located in the municipality
of Moya, some 36 kilometres from the island’s
capital city. This rural accommodation covers 120
square metres and sleeps 4 people, and is the first
to be part of the Finca Ecológica Montañón Negro,
an estate set within the confines of the Montañón
Negro Natural Monument, a protected area that
belongs to the Canary Network of Natural Spaces.
Situated at 1,500 metres altitude, the house sits on
the lava flow of one of the last volcanoes to emerge
in Gran Canaria, approximately 3,000 years before
Christ. For the last ten years, the owners have
combined their rural holiday let business with
cattle and crop farming and forestry activities.
The rustic-style house offers all essential services
for clients to enjoy a few relaxing days in natural
surroundings. In addition, from its priviledged
location, it is possible for guests to take part in
wine tourism, agricultural tourism and hiking
activities and, specifically, tackle the routes of ‘The
Recent Volcanoes of Moya’ and the ‘La Montaña
de Pajaritos Walk’.

La Casa Emblemática Allureh is a country villa
covering 250 square metres, located in unique
surroundings in the municipality of Santa Lucía
de Tirajana, at the south of Gran Canaria. The
experiential relationship between its design and
its 150-year history has earned it the accolade
of ‘emblematic house’ by the Cabildo de Gran
Canaria.
This country let features architecture based on
permanence over time, where the strength of its
noble materials maintain an exquisite balance
between modern design and classic beauty. It
has large windows that let in plenty of natural
light, opening out onto a 20th century courtyard.
The villa is built on two floors and sleeps two
people. It has one main bedroom, two bathrooms,
one en suite, a fully equipped kitchen, solarium
and private swimming pool, among other
facilities. Its location makes it ideal for cycling
and hiking, specifically the routes of El Ingenio, La
Fortaleza, Cruz del Siglo and Los Molinos.
