Examine the geologic map of part of the Grand Canyon area in Arizona (below). There is no legend because you don’t have
to know the specific ages of the units to answer the question.
In the lower right part of the map, what is the relative age of the bright red rock layer compared with the pale green
layer? Note that the thin blue line running through the red layer represents the Colorado River, which flows through the
bottom of the Grand Canyon.
