University of Sunderland Travel Plan Update
The University has also been monitoring and will continue to monitor the level of take take-up for
various Travel Plan measures on a yearly basis. This data will allow the Travel Plan Coordinator
and the Sustainable Travel EAG Group to review measures or their format to obtain the best
outputs. The following indicators ndicators will continue to be used to monitor the Travel Plan initiatives:
• Number umber of car parking permits issued;
• Number umber of car share scheme members;
• Number umber of staff using the various discounted public blic transport tickets available via salary
deduction;
• Number umber of staff using salary sacrifice to purchase cycles and cycle equipment;
• Usage levels for motorcycle, otorcycle, cycle and car share parking facilities; and
• Usage levels of the University Campus Bus Service; and
The Travel Plan Coordinator will continue to conduct the monitoring process and will report to the
Environment and Strategy Group (ESG) via the Sustainable Travel Environment Action (EAG)
Group every 6 months.

5.2.16 Measure 16 – Site Management Plan
2007/08 Expectation
It was expected that the continued re re-development of the City y Campus would incur major
disruption within the University and for the surrounding community. It was therefore important that
a campus wide management plan was developed to incorporate contractor and supply chain
travel issues.
The University Design Team and appointed main contractor for the re-development
development planned to
work in partnership to develop a site management plan for the campus which would incorporate
the following travel related issues:
• Supplies and deliveries;
• Impact on the local highway;
• Impact on the local community;
• Supply chain integration; and
Continue to monitor 2008 KPI’s and take up of travel plan measures.
Next staff and student travel to work survey to be undertaken in late
2011. Parking counts to be undertaken if required.
