University of Sunderland Travel Plan Update 3.2 Student Travel Patterns 3.2.1.1 How do students travel to the University? Usual Mode of Travel Students were asked to specify the mode of transport they use most frequently to travel to University. There is a high proportion of students who walk to the University (31.5%) and who travel by public transport (40.1%). Of the public transport users, 15.3% use the Metro. Results are illustrated below in Table 3.30.
