• Problems arise though more intense odours<br />

<strong>and</strong> noise <strong>from</strong> l<strong>on</strong>ger opening hours.<br />

• Customer noise (cars, eating outside).<br />

• Late night washing up, refrigerati<strong>on</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />

extracti<strong>on</strong> system.<br />

C<strong>on</strong>cerns about <strong>the</strong> used <strong>of</strong>:<br />

• St<strong>and</strong> al<strong>on</strong>e ESP for odour removal<br />

• Masking agents because dosing is difficult<br />

to manage.<br />

<strong>Odour</strong>/noise Nuisance mitigated by:<br />

• Raising stack to above ridge <strong>of</strong> 4 storey<br />

building (ca. 20m). Planning permissi<strong>on</strong><br />

required due to listed building status.<br />

• <strong>Noise</strong> reduced by changing fan for variable<br />

speed type <strong>and</strong> installed attenuati<strong>on</strong> device<br />

in duct work after fan<br />

<strong>Odour</strong> Nuisance mitigated by;<br />

• Installing coarse & fine filters <strong>and</strong> carb<strong>on</strong><br />

filters; <strong>and</strong><br />

• Maintenance checks every 2 weeks.<br />

<strong>Odour</strong> Previously a French restaurant. No planning<br />

requirement for change <strong>of</strong> use. No odour<br />

c<strong>on</strong>trol/no complaints.
