Pe 2 aprilie 2007, un monolit alb parazitează o stradă din Paris,<br />

stârnind diverse reacţii. Majoritatea maşinilor blocate manifestă<br />

însă o resemnare surprinzătoare, asemănătoare cu o formă de<br />

contemplare religioasă ce ar putea trăda potenţiala virtualitate<br />

a monolitului.<br />

Astfel, realitatea se transformă într-un fel de film SF fără sens.<br />

S-a întâmplat cu adevărat? Este cumva un efect special sau un<br />

obiect 3D? Aceşti oameni sunt actorii?<br />

Filmul nu poate fi privit nici ca o documentaţie sculpturală<br />

minimalistă, nici ca un documentar, nici ca înregistrarea unei<br />

camere de supraveghere, ca o interpretare artistică, un remake,<br />

un film SF sau pur şi simplu ca o ficţiune. Nu are sens, nu există<br />

un echilibru, iar imaginile par să fie nişte greşeli. Monolitulsculptură<br />

joacă rolul unui permanent punct culminant. Lucrarea<br />

trece dincolo de barierele realităţii şi ficţiunii, pentru a crea un<br />

teritoriu nou şi coerent, real şi ireal în acelaşi timp.<br />

The second of April 2007, a white monolith invades a street<br />

of Paris. It raises various reactions, but most blocked cars<br />

show a surprising resignation, resembling an almost religious<br />

contemplation that could betray the potential virtual<br />

character of the monolith.<br />

By doing so, reality falls into a kind of meaningless science<br />

fiction movie. Did it really happen? Is it a special effect, or a<br />

3D object? Are these people actors?<br />

It’s no use to try seeing this film as a minimalist sculpture<br />

documentation, a documentary, a security camera film, an<br />

artistic performance, a remake, a science fiction movie or<br />

as a pure fiction movie. It doesn’t make sense, it keeps on<br />

wavering and images appear like mistakes. The sculpturemonolith<br />

acts on the movie like a permanent climax. This<br />

piece aims to escape the fields of reality and fiction to create<br />

a new coherent territory, fake and real at the same time.<br />
