I’m particularly interested in deciphering tectonic changes expressed for example by landscape rejuvenation. I made a morphological analysis in order to characterize first-order topographic signals of the Andean subduction margin and I combined it with boundary element modeling (Marzipan) to explain subduction interface geometry and north chile coastal topography relationships. Morpho-tectonic evolution of the andean subduction margin, North Chile (PhD, IPGP 2007-2012, Advisors: Rolando Armijo, Robin Lacassin). I have shown that the coastal area in North Chile has been recently (< 10 My) uplifted and deeply incised implying that the Andes are growing towards the subduction zone. I used a detailed analysis of the morphology of the North Chile margin combined with drainage analysis to highlight a 1 000 m-high surface uplift of the whole coastal margin. I tested and confirmed this hypothesis with a landscape evolution model (APERO). I also had the chance to organize 4 fieldworks in North Chile.
