niveau de tous les acteurs sociopolitiques.
Dès lors, la FEDIL estime que
les consultations actuellement en
cours au niveau du Comité de
coordination tripartite devraient
déboucher à court terme sur des
réformes structurelles visant à
garantir la croissance économique
et la création d’emplois telles qu’elles
viennent d’être esquissées dans
le cadre du Plan national pour l’innovation
et le plein emploi.
Au chapitre des sujets d’actualité,
le conseil d’administration de
la FEDIL s’est, par ailleurs, penché
sur les discussions concernant l’introduction
d’une taxe sur les car-
burants récemment annoncée par
trois communes, à savoir Roeser,
Mertert et Mamer, en compensation
des nuisances qui seraient causées
par les stations services implantées
le long du réseau autoroutier.
Venant s’ajouter à d’autres précédents
comme, par exemple, les
taxes relatives aux décharges pour
déchets inertes, une multiplication
de nouvelles taxes communales pour
compenser des soi-disant nuisances
reviendrait à instaurer un véritable
régime d’anarchie fiscale.
Par contre, la FEDIL estime
approprié de revoir le mécanisme de
redistribution de l’impôt commercial
communal, ceci dans l’optique
d’une approche visant à accroître
l’acceptation de certaines catégories
d’établissements classés.
Toujours lors de sa réunion
du 10 février dernier, le conseil
d’administration de la FEDIL a
approuvé les demandes d’affiliation
des trois sociétés suivantes,
représentant au total un effectif
de 289 personnes: EURO-DEAL
S.àr.l. (travail temporaire), IMAGI-
NEA LUXEMBOURG S.A. (nettoyage
industriel, maintenance
multitechnique du bâtiment,
construction et parachèvement)
et LOR SECURITY S.à r.l..

Amcham launches second edition
of its «Working in Luxembourg»
The American Chamber
of Commerce in Luxembourg
has recently launched
a substantially revised and
updated second edition of its
«Working in Luxembourg» publication.
The goal of this publication is
to assist the further growth, development
and expansion of the
Luxembourg economy by promoting
Luxembourg as the ideal
business location in Europe for
international businesses looking
for a European business base; to
facilitate access to the full range
of required business information
for new businesses setting up in
Luxembourg; to provide English
language business information to
government officials (both U.S.
and Luxembourg) involved in
trade, business and investment
issues; and to assist business people
or individuals already located
in Luxembourg or considering
Luxembourg as a business location
for European activities.
New publications
The revised second edition is the
result of an 18 month long effort
by an exceptionally qualified and
experienced group of legal, accounting
and human resources experts
who revised and updated the book
in coordination with the Luxembourg
Chamber of Commerce,
the Luxembourg and the American
governments. This second edi-
tion is available in both a hard-copy
book format and as a CD-ROM. In
this context it is worth noting that
the CD-ROM version will be particularly
useful for distribution at the
various investment and trade missions
of the Luxembourg Ministry
of Economy and the Luxembourg
Chamber of Commerce over the
coming years.
