Da qualche anno a questa parte buona parte dei più grandi e riconosciuti musei del<br />
mondo ha iniziato a investire sull’educazione, pensando i servizi educativi come un<br />
<br />
una grande scommessa che in certe realtà straniere può considerarsi vinta e ormai alla base<br />
di ogni ben riuscito programma museale.<br />
La mostra IllustrAzione a nei locali della Fondazione Puglisi Cosentino per l’arte<br />
(dall’11 novembre 2011al 2 marzo), nasce proprio dalla consapevolezza che i libri per l’infanzia<br />
costituiscono probabilmente i primi passi che noi tutti compiamo verso letteratura, storie, forme<br />
e colori e come tali rivestano un altissimo ruolo educativo. La mostra, curata dalla Sezione<br />
didattica della fondazione, mette in esposizione ben 60 opere originali di affermati illustratori<br />
catanesi (Riccardo Francaviglia e Margherita Sgarlata, Santo Pappalardo, Lucia Scuderi e Nadia<br />
Ruju) investendo sulla città e sui suoi talenti per proporre un approccio inedito al disegno<br />
<br />
per scoprire cos’è l’illustrazione e a cosa serve, come si passa dal progetto alla libreria o<br />
semplicemente quali siano gli strumenti dell’autore-illustratore; percorrendo le sale di questa<br />
mostra si è inevitabilmente attirati a scoprirne i retroscena, a esplorare i coloratissimi totem<br />
didattici e a giocare con gli strumenti del mestiere, magari prendendo spunto dalle meraviglie<br />

For some years now, a good deal of the biggest and most acknowledged museums in<br />
the world has been investing on education, considering educational services as an im-<br />
<br />
culture; a big bet to be considered won in some foreign countries and a linchpin, by now,<br />
for every accomplished museological program. The exhibition “IllustrAction”, organized in<br />
Catania (from 11th November 2011 to 2nd March <strong>2012</strong>), in the rooms the foundation<br />
Puglisi Cosentino dedicated to art, comes out from the awareness that books for children<br />
<br />
colours, so to have an extremely important educational role. The exhibition, curated by<br />
the Didactic Section of the Foundation, puts on display as many as 60 original works<br />
by well-known illustrators from Catania (Riccardo Francaviglia and Margherita Sgarlata,<br />
Santo Pappalardo, Lucia Scuderi and Nadia Ruju), investing on the city and its artists to<br />
suggest a new approach to graphic arts: as the title itself brings out, it is an exhibition<br />
<br />
it is used for, the different passages intervening from the project to the bookshop or<br />
just to know what the illustrator’s tools are. Going through the rooms of this exhibition<br />
you can’t but be ravished by the desire to discover what is behind it, to explore the very<br />
coloured didactic totems and even to play with the tools of the trade, maybe inspired<br />
