This barrier occurs because most Web pages are produced to a general public that does not correspond to elders’ profile or to operational demanding. This research aimed at identifying recommendation of accessibility and usability to Virtual Learning Environments arranged to elders, increasing then, assured accessibility and usability of VLEs by such public, and as consequence, engendering a bigger claim for courses mediated by this technology. The research was carried out due the following factors: crescent raise in Brazilian elders life expectation and the development of new information and communication technologies, such as Virtual Learning Environments. The flexibility proposed to learning as well as the necessity of continued education for elders, attached to the easy development of Web systems; compose Virtual Learning Environments as an attractive segment to be explored. For Filatro (2004), this is the research field and the activity of instructional design. Since its emergence as a science of education, instructional design has traditionally been linked to the production of teaching materials, specifically the production of printed materials.
