accessibility and usability. This barrier occurs because most Web pages are produced to a<br />

general public that <strong>do</strong>es not correspond to elders’ profile or to operational d<strong>em</strong>anding.<br />

This research aimed at identifying recommen<strong>da</strong>tion of accessibility and usability<br />

to Virtual Learning Environments arranged to elders, increasing then, assured accessibility<br />

and usability of VLEs by such public, and as consequence, engendering a bigger claim for<br />

courses mediated by this technology.<br />

The research was carried out due the following factors: crescent raise in Brazilian<br />

elders life expectation and the development of new information and communication<br />

technologies, such as Virtual Learning Environments. The flexibility proposed to learning as<br />

well as the necessity of continued education for elders, attached to the easy development<br />

of Web syst<strong>em</strong>s; compose Virtual Learning Environments as an attractive segment to be<br />

explored.<br />
