beş kollu yıldız biçimli çini dolgulu bezeme, bu bölüme ayrıca dikkatleri
çekmektedir. Beyşehir Eşrefoğlu Camii’nin mihrabına, kubbe ve geçişlerine
odaklanılan bu çalışmada, tuğla, sırlı tuğla, çini ve ahşabın birlikteliğinden doğan
mekân estetiği irdelenmektedir.

ABSTRACT
Eşrefoğlu Mosque, located in Beyşehir, is a medieval construction and dated back to
1299 with its outstandingly original architectural aesthetics. The mosque’s stone
portal, wooden supportive interior columns, superimposed roof structure with
coatings over the beams and its four brick columns supporting the dome in front of
the mihrab, constructed with wood, stone and brick materials and decorated with
glazed bricks, glazed tiles. All materials were utilised with complete harmony. The
warmth of colour and texture of wooden and brick materials, and the glittering
smooth cold surfaces of the turquoise and dark blue glazed tiles are nicely balanced.
Otherwise gloomy interior is softly illuminated with the light flowing from the
centrally open ceiling and diffracts from the glazed tiles of the mihrab. The styling of
the mihrab is reminiscent of Konya Seljuk mihrabs that also remind the glazed tiles
of Karatay Madrasa dome with its interlaced star shaped decorations. The frontal
section of the mihrab is emphasized by the corner triangles and by the dome surface
with turquoise varnished bricks and by dark blue glazed tiles. Another decorative
inscription that draw attention is the belt of inscription surrounding the dome skirt
