herhangi bir seramik objede onun kille olan dostluğunu ve içtenliğini görmek
mümkündür. Cihat Burak bu nedenle, genç kuşak seramikçilere de ilham kaynağı
olabilecek çok yönlü ve duyarlı bir sanatçıdır.

SUMMARY
One of the important names of Turkish Art; Cihat Burak joined the features of the
Ottoman Art and the Art of the Era of the Turkish Republic while he was experiencing
and reflecting this important cultural change of the Turkish people in his own
characteristic language. He was an artist character that lived between the years 1915-
1994 and had the feature of being a painter, architect, writer besides of having produced
ceramics that reflect his original style in art. He took his inspirations from the history,
folk art, Kuvay-ı Milliye, daily lives of the people and the world actions. Burak preferred
to use a figurative language to display his thoughts that he kneaded with his rich power of
imagination. He did not hesistate to experience different disciplines while doing this. The
material ceramic turned into a tool for his artistic expressions for the ceramic works that
he could find time to create in his life full of conception and production. It is obvious
that these works; with their approaches from the side of ceramic art are; with their
originalities, sincerities, plastic values, their rich powers of expressions appearing as a
field of research. While Cihat Burak’s ceramics were nourished by his knowledge about
arcitecture, his friendship with the clay is visible from the different structures he gained
by pressing objects against the clay that he kneaded ower and ower, cut and gained
different textures by pressing against to the clay. This effect is also visible in his birdhouses
he made out of ceramic. Therefore, with his versatility and sensitivity Cihat
Burak achieves an important role of being a source of inspiration also to the young
ceramic artists.
