Abstract
A Place in the Prayers of Kerem; Turkey's First National Park, Yozgat Çamlığı
(Pine Grove) National Park
The destruction of natural areas in the world due to various reasons, and the illegal and
unconscious hunting of living species in the nature, have a strong influence on the ecosystem.
These wrong interventions and problematic practices in nature have led to the birth of the
concept of National Park. Because of Turkey's geographical location and its diverse climate,
Turkey is very rich country in terms of biological diversity.Efforts to develop various
protection methods and systems in order to protect these rich natural and cultural resources in
our country increasingly continue.One of the most important of these efforts is nationalpark,
one of the internationally recognized protected area systems.The concept of national park in
Turkey is defined in the National Park Law Law No. 2873 published in 1983. Our first
national park is the Yozgat Çamlığı ( Yozgat Pine Grove),declared in 1958 as a National Park
in Yozgat, theancient city of Anatolia of the geography of miracles. In this study, information
about Yozgat Çamlığı National Park was given and the process of being the first national park
of this region was explained. In addition, while the concept of national park and its process
were discussed throughout the history of the world, the examples in both the Ottoman Empire
and the Republican era have been mentioned. With this study we also aim to create a new
awareness about the Yozgat Çamlığı National Park and to contribute to the tourism potential
of Yozgat.

1. Giriş
İnsanoğlunun var olmasıyla birlikte başlayan insan-doğa ilişkisi oldukça eski bir
serüvene sahiptir. İnsanın doğayı tanıması ve doğaya hükmetmeye başlaması ile beraber
beşeri tahribatın doğa üzerindeki etkileri artarak devam etmiştir. İçinde bulunduğumuz
yüzyılda doğayı korumak ve bu amaçla ortak bir bilinç oluşturmak bütün insanlığın ortak
sorunu haline gelmiştir. Bu ortak sorun karşısında ülkeler bir takım önlemler almıştır. Bu
önlemlerden biri de milli park 3 oluşturma fikridir. Milli park alanları biyo-çeşitliliği, endemik
tür zenginliği, pek çok tıbbi ve aromatik bitkiye ev sahipliği yapması yönünden önemlidir. 4
