χρησιμοποιούν την αλβανική ή την αρμανική (κουτσοβλαχική) και τη σλαβική. Αν μάλιστα<br />
δεν υπήρχε ο Κοσμάς ο Αιτωλός, που με το κήρυγμά του, στερέωσε την ελληνική στις<br />
συνειδήσεις των απλών ανθρώπων, ο εξαλβανισμός στις βορειοδυτικές περιοχές θα ήταν<br />
ολοκληρωτικός. Ο Απόστολος Βακαλόπουλος γράφει σχετικά με την προσπάθεια του<br />
Κοσμά:<br />
«Για να διαδώση την ελληνική στα βλαχόφωνα και αλβανόφωνα μέρη, ζητεί από<br />
τους χωρικούς της Ηπείρου να ιδρύουν σχολεία και να μη μιλούν μεταξύ τους<br />
παρά μόνο ελληνικά. Για να τους ανταμείψη, υπόσχεται να πάρη όλα τα<br />
αμαρτήματά τους επάνω του» (<strong>Ι</strong>στορία του Νέου Ελληνισμού, τόμ. Δʹ, σελ. 439).<br />
Με άλλα λόγια ο Άγιος τους έλεγε: μιλάτε ελληνικά και τα κρίματά σας επάνω μου.<br />
Και για να θέσουμε όχι μόνο τελεία αλλά και παύλα στην ανόητη συζήτηση περί<br />
ελληνικότητας των Αρβανιτών, συνοψίζουμε τις σκέψεις μας στο ακόλουθο συμπέρασμα:<br />
το να θελήσει κάποιος να αποδείξει ότι οι Αρβανίτες δεν είχαν και αλβανική καταγωγή είναι<br />
τόσο ανόητο, όσο και το να προσπαθήσει κάποιος να αποδείξει πως δεν είναι Έλληνες 72 . Το<br />
αλβανικό αίμα που ρέει στις φλέβες των Αρβανιτών και λοιπών κατοίκων του ελληνικού<br />
χώρου είναι σταγόνα στον ωκεανό μπρος στο ελληνικό αίμα που ρέει στις φλέβες των<br />
σημερινών Αλβανών.
