Macedonia, of course, is a part of Greece, yet now, since I am following the nature and shape of the places geographically, I have decided to classify it apart from the rest of Greece and to join it with that part of Thrace which borders on it and extends as far as the mouth of the Euxine and the Propontis. «Καθημερινή» (20 Δεκεμβρίου 1998) στιγματίζει όλη αυτήν την ύποπτη συνεδριομανία: «Η<br />
επιτηδευμένη στις ημέρες μας «συνεδριοσπουδή» ούτε την επιστήμη ούτε τους Αρβανίτες<br />
υπηρετεί. Το δε δήθεν ενδιαφέρον που εκδηλώνεται για τα Αρβανίτικα, όπως και για τα<br />
Βλάχικα, αφορμάται από τα ευρωκονδύλια, τα οποία, κατά τον κοινοτάρχη ιστορικής<br />
κωμοπόλεως και παλαίμαχο δημοσιογράφο, τον Ν. Μέρτζο, που δημοσίως καταγγέλλει, τα<br />
πιάνουν ζεστά κάποιοι Λογιώτατοι»!<br />
Φοβάμαι πως η ανεργία που μαστίζει τους νέους επιστήμονες, θα αυξήσει τον αριθμό<br />
τέτοιων «Λογιωτάτων». Κάποιοι ταλαίπωροι, με υδαρή συνείδηση, θα θελήσουν<br />
καβαφικώτατα, «να μπαλωθούν» προδίδοντας την πατρίδα τους, εν ονόματι του<br />
πολυφυλετικού πολυπολιτισμού.
