VILLE VERDI – BUILDING A RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX
A residential complex consisting of five “city villas” was
built between July 2007 and March 2009, in the immediate
vicinity of Gasometer City in the 11th district of Vienna.
Staggered in plan, the buildings are embedded in
a park-like landscape.
The unconventional architectural language – the villas’
inclined attitude produces an optical tilt effect – enables
entry of direct sunshine and a fine view. This extraordinary
configuration makes an interesting contribution to
urban development in a former industrial zone, while
the green colour of the façade, together with the surrounding
green space, justifies the name of the development,
Wohnpark Ville Verdi.

Die Porr Projekt und Hochbau AG wurde im Juni 2007
von der Errichtungsgemeinschaft Gesiba-GSG mit der
schlüsselfertigen Errichtung der von Architekt Albert
Wimmer geplanten Wohnhausanlage beauftragt.
All the 166 rental units are equipped with loggia, terrace,
veranda or balcony. The choice of flats is remarkably
varied: Each floor offers four flats with sizes of two,
three and four rooms.
Each “villa” has a pram and bicycle room and a launderette.
The five “villas” share three children's playrooms,
a sauna and a hobby room. The underground
car park with 115 car parking spaces is provided with
natural ventilation and has a direct connection with
each of the five buildings.
The lightwells of the underground car park form hills in
the green space. The platforms, alternately green or
paved, permit a variety of uses including gathering
places and playgrounds.

Das Areal befindet sich im 11. Wiener Gemeindebezirk,
in einer ehemaligen Industriezone, die im Begriff ist, ihre
neue Identität als Dienstleistungs- und Wohngebiet
