FORSCHUNG
ab. Es muss bewertet werden, wie die Subsysteme
voneinander abhängen und welche unterschiedlichen
Einflüsse jedes Subsystem auf das
gesamte System hat. Die V-Stiel-Brücken der
Schweiz wurden aufgrund ihrer Verbreitung als
Beispiel gewählt.
Auf der Grundlage der Systemtheorie der Technik
von Günter Ropohl [1] werden Brückensysteme
beschrieben, und es wird eine systemtheoretische
Beschreibung des Weggrössenverfahrens und des
Kraftgrössenverfahrens entwickelt. Auf der Grundlage
dieser systemtheoretischen Beschreibung und
der Methoden der Graphentheorie soll ein Algorithmus
entwickelt werden, welcher mögliche Lastpfade
eines Systems berechnen kann.
Application of a Systems Theory for Bridges
Bridges are planned for a long service life and to
meet the associated changing demands that cannot
be fully anticipated. Traffic is growing, live loads
are increasing, de-icing salts are being used more
and more since the 1970s, and additional actions
such as failures of columns, and subsidings etc. are
occuring that were not normally considered at the
time of the structures’ dimensioning. Although such
circumstances cause higher risks, society demands
more than ever that risks are minimised. A possible
solution to cope with this situation is to design new
bridges for robustness and to assess the robustness
of existing ones.
An investigation of the robustness of a structure
should be carried out on the whole system, not only
on parts thereof. To evaluate the robustness of a
structure it is necessary to define the system itself.
The bridge should be seen as a system consisting of
a complex combination of varying structural subsystems
so as to allow the investigation of the interaction
between them. Thus, the robustness of a structure
depends on the interactions between the structural
subsystems. Therefore, it is to be evaluated
how they depend on each other and what the influences
of each structural subsystem are on the whole
system. Highway overpasses with V-columns were
chosen as sample structures because they are widespread
through Switzerland.
Based on Ropohl’s Systems Theory of Engineering
[1] a bridge system is described and a systems’
theoretical description of both the displacement
method and the force method was developed. Based
on this system’s theoretical description and on the
methods of the graph theory an algorithm shall be
developed which calculates possible load paths of a
structural system.
