Mit den neuen SIA-Tragwerksnormen 260 bis 267
ist die Erdbebeneinwirkung grösser und gleichzeitig
die Erdbebenbemessung anspruchsvoller geworden.
Dieser Fortbildungskurs richtete sich an die in
der Praxis tätigen Ingenieure. Wichtige Grundlagen
und Bemessungsregeln für das duktile und nichtduktile
Tragwerksverhalten wurden vermittelt. Die
Behandlung der Bauwerksklasse III sowie nicht tragender
Bauteile und Anlagen wurde speziell diskutiert.
Zum Schluss wurde das Merkblatt SIA 2018
„Überprüfung bestehender Gebäude bezüglich Erdbeben“
vorgestellt, das kurz vor der Veröffentlichung
stand.
Am Ende des Kurses hatten die 120 Teilnehmern
die Möglichkeit, mit den Referenten über die gerade
präsentierte Materie oder über weitere konkrete
praxisrelevante Probleme zu diskutieren.

2nd Workshop on Durability of post-tensioning
tendons

Problems regarding the durability of post-tensioning
tendons were discussed at a workshop held at
Ghent University in November 2001. The contributions
to that workshop were published in fib
Bulletin No. 15 under the headings „Inventory and
Condition“, „Investigation and Repair“, „Technical
Progress“ and „Strategies for Improvement“. The
aim of the 2nd workshop was to discuss and approve
resolutions on the recommended practice for
durable post-tensioning tendons.
Experts from various countries were invited as
speakers, chairmen and reporters. Participants were
invited to contribute through discussions and with
posters in a parallel poster session. (Total of 145
participants.) The results of the workshop were
published in fib Bulletin No. 33 „Durability of posttensioning
tendons“.
Seminar on Bayesian Probabilistic Networks

Bayesian Probabilistic Networks provide a useful
tool for dealing with uncertainty and complexity of
engineering problems. They were developed during
the last two decades, as a decision support tool originally
targeted for purposes of artificial intelligence
engineering. The developments of the theory
and application areas for Bayesian Probabilistic
Networks have been and are still evolving rapidly. It
is at present possible to utilize the techniques for
almost any aspect of probabilistic modeling and
decision making, ranging from inference problems,
model building and data mining over to pre-posterior
decision analysis. In this seminar an introduction
to the Bayesian Networks was provided covering
the algorithms and the theory behind those models.
The basics of probability theory are a prerequisite.
