vorhanden. Die Auswahl ist begrenzt. Die Ware wird funktional
in Massenpräsentation angeboten.
The store design principles:
These emotional expectations must be met not only by the products
but also through the design of the store.
What does the corresponding store design look like? It is characterised
by simplicity and order. Even the building itself is functional
and without embellishment. Now let’s take a look inside
the store. The room makes an orderly impression. Broad, straight
aisles arranged at right-angles to each other like the shelves.
The customer has a clear overview. The room is functional and
brightly lit. There is no or only limited accentuation using light.
The selection is limited. Goods are presented en masse in a purely
functional manner. The furnishing costs are extremely low, and
the periods between general renovations extremely long.
Rechnung. Werte, die damit verbunden sind, sind
Leistung, Effizienz, Autonomie, Größe aber (Preis-) Durchsetzung.
Welche emotionalen Shopping-Erwartungen sind damit verbunden:
Große Auswahl, (Kampf-) Preise, hohes Maß an Selbstbedienung.
Prototypisch für diese Shopping-Welt stehen MediaMarkt,
Poco-Möbelmärkte, Globus oder Iper.
2. Efficient and power shopping: size and price
The next largest emotional shopping world is based in the dominance
system. This emotional system has two sides – a functional
side that demands efficiency and assertiveness, and a distinctional
one calling for status and exclusivity. Efficient and power
shopping satisfies the functional side of the dominance system.
This is associated with the values of performance, efficiency, autonomy
and size but (price) assertiveness. The shopping expectations
associated with this world are a large selection, (competitive)
prices and a high level of self-service. Typical examples of
this shopping world include MediaMarkt, Poco furniture markets
and Globus or Iper.
dominiert. Der Verkaufsraum wird durch massiven
Einsatz von meist visuellen Instore-Kommunikationsmaßnahmen
zum zentralen Punkt des Retail Brandings.
The store design principles:
The store design principles are similar to those for trust shopping,
with the main difference being the size of the sales area
and therefore of course also the range and depth of products
on offer, which are greater for efficient and power shopping. The
paths and product display units are again arranged at right-angles
to each other, and the materials and shelving systems used are
functional and cost-effective. Lighting is simple, dominated by
a bright background illumination. The sales area becomes a focal
point of retail branding through the large-scale use of mostly
visual in-store communications measures.
