<strong>VisCAM</strong> Help 4.0 Save parts to subdirectory The name of the current workspace is proposed as subdirectory by default, but you can also change the subdirectory at any time. File format Selection of the file format for the model files. Only one common file format can be chosen for all of the selected models. When saving triangle parts, the Stereolithography file format STL is preset. A standard slice format can be defined for each machine in the machine database. It is preset for saving a slice part. Save build information A build log containing detailed information about the saved parts or objects is automatically generated when the parts and objects are saved. The log file contains all parameters of the selected machine configuration, time and cost information as well as volume, dimensions, surface area, etc. for all parts and objects contained in the workspace as well as for each object separately. The name of the log file results from the respective model file, the chosen file format and the file extension ".BLD". Check placement Verifies before saving, whether the parts and objects are already placed in the envelope of the selected machine. An automatic placement can then be performed optionally. At this, the placement goes by the build parameters of the selected machine defined in the Machine database. File options Opens the File options dialog. Here you can define individual settings for the supported file formats as well as determine presets for the default directory and the preview. INFO: You can also define the default measurement unit used for the individual file formats in the File options dialog. <strong>VisCAM</strong> then converts from the internal unit of measurement (millimeters) to the specified file unit automatically for saving. Close Menu: File Icon: No short cut Closes the current workspace The current workspace is closed and the model content is cleared from the memory. In order to prevent accidental wiping, a safety inquiry shows up before closure. If additional workspaces have been created within the program, an automatic change to another workspace will take place and its content will be shown. Reference: 25
