Cross section Menu: View Icon: No short cut View of the model alongside a cutting plane Dialog of the function Cross section In this dialog, you can determine the position, the axis and the display of the section. In addition, you can call the dialog of the function Split model (see Split model). Section position 76
Cross section Defines the position of the section plane on the section axis. You can determine the section position with the slider or by entering a numerical value. The section position is restricted to the sector of the selected section axis which the model stretches across. Section axis You can choose one of the main axes of the coordinate system as section axis. • None: Disables the section axis and in turn the cross section. • X: Defines the x-axis as the section axis. • Y: Defines the y-axis as the section axis. • Z: Defines the z-axis as the section axis. Section display • Back: Displays the rear half of the cut model. • Front: Displays the front half of the cut model. • Both sides: Shows both halves of the cut model. • Show section: Shows the profile of the model in the section plane. • Measure section: Supports especially the selection of positions on the section profile for the measurement functions in the Annotation menu. You can only choose this function when the function Show section is enabled. HINT: Using the cross section, hidden parts of the model can be made visible and editable.
