recognition for a number <strong>of</strong><br />
works, among these "World <strong>of</strong><br />
Our Fathers" which won the<br />
National Book Award in 1977,<br />
"The Critical Point" (1973),<br />
"The Decline <strong>of</strong> the New"<br />
(1969), "Thomas Hardy"<br />
(1967), and "Walliam<br />
Faulkner: A Critical Study"<br />
