New courses being offered for the fall . term include boat restoration; dental assistant review for certification; diesel mechanics; typewriter repairs, and food service supervisor. . Courses in adult basic education and high school completion are being offered to those adults who need help in the basic fundamentals of reading, mathematics and writing. A minimum of 10 persons must pre-register for each class. A $10 fee per person for county residents, and a $20 fee for out-of-countv residents is required. Registration is to be made anytime prior to September 13 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Additional fees for supplies are required for photography, cooking, upholstery and welding. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Pratt of 846 West Av., he was graduated from Ocean City High School in 1962 and enlisted in the Air Force 14 years ago. First time thrill for new angler CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE — A first time fishing trip ever for a Haddonfieldman provided a once-ln-a-lifetime thrill as he boated a 12% foot tiger shark which was estimated at around 700-pounds. Jack Garrison, who operates a print shop in Philadelphia and who lives at 27 Bewley Rd., Haddonfield, was fishing aboardthe boatFinaHy II out of Avalon, with Skipper Phil Walsack. He was using 50pound test line and mackerel bait. The party was fishing 27 miles out of Townsends Inlet when the fish took the bait. He battled the fish over two hours. Garrison's tiger shark is one of the largest ever recorded in Cape May County fishing contest history, although it falls short of the 1,018-pound world record fish for 50-pound class line. The Cape May County Planning Board has announced that $172,752 in Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds is available for the first year of a three-year project to assist homeowners in fixing up their homes. The target area for the first year is Lower Township, primarily the Villas. In the second year the project will involve Middle Township, and in the third year. Ocean City.
