ca. 1.2 × 1.2 cm, both surfaces gray-white, adaxially densely<br />

tomentose, pinnatisect; lateral segments 1- or 2-paired. Distal<br />

leaves and leaves below synflorescence smaller, undivided.<br />

Synflorescence a terminal compound flat-topped panicle, 1–2.5<br />

cm in diam. Capitula many. Involucres campanulate, 2.4–3<br />

mm in diam.; phyllaries in 4 rows, straw-colored, abaxially glabrous,<br />

scarious margin hyaline, apex obtuse or rounded, outer<br />

ones ovate or triangular-lanceolate, ca. 2 mm, middle and inner<br />
