En - Common banded mantis shrimp.
Maximum total length about 38 cm; the characteristic raptorial claw may be 4 cm long. Distinctly
banded with alternate light and dark bands. Burrows in level bottoms near shore. Collected with spears,
snares and bait, or at night lights. Widely distributed from Japan and Hawaii to the western Indian
Ocean.
