of old Mr. <strong>Sterling</strong>s Lot " and adjoining the land already owned<br />

by Daniel. This lot was laid Sept. 17, 1718, and confirmed by the<br />

town Dec. 1.<br />

Aug. 7 of this year William deeded all his property to Daniel.<br />

Daniel also received " upon the account of Mr. Russels settlement<br />

at tantamoheags (Tantummeheag) hill," adjoining land owned by<br />

Richard Lord, twenty acres at 15 s - per acre, Dec. 1, 1718. <strong>The</strong><br />

hill mentioned lies on the east bank of the Connecticut river, about<br />

four miles south of Hamburg, midway between that town and the<br />

Sound. On the same date " upon the account of M*" Russel's settle-<br />

ment," Daniel was granted for £8, " Ten acres of Land aboue the<br />

" one acre and twenty Rods adjoining to the s d Daniell <strong>Sterling</strong>'s<br />

land," Mar. 3, 1719. May 14, of the same year, Daniel acquired
