Dr. Charles S. <strong>Sterling</strong> removed from Connecticut to Lafay-<br />

ette, Onondaga Co., N. Y., with his parents. He had an academic<br />

education and studied medicine in Pompey in the office of .a physi-<br />

cian and upon his admission to practice moved to Euclid, Onon-<br />

daga Co., and opened an office in 1832. <strong>The</strong> first entry in his<br />

account book and diary is " commenced boarding with Wm. Coon<br />

at one dollar, fifty^ cents per week, including room," and his first<br />
