95 DANIEL STARLIN (brother of the above), b. in <strong>Sterling</strong><br />

City in June, 1740; m. in Haddam, Conn., Feb. 17, 1763, Demas<br />

Morse. Daniel Starlin removed to East Haddam, Conn., where<br />

he lived until about 1773, when he returned to Lyme. He d. in<br />

Lyme prior to Mar. 11, 1777, when an inventory of his estate<br />

was taken by Richard Heys, James Markham, his brother-in-law,<br />

and William Starlin. His estate was valued at £420 4s. Id. His<br />

real estate consisted of " one Hundred Acres of Land with the<br />

buildings thereon" apprised at £300. His wife "Mrs. Dem^ 8<br />

Starling " was the administrator of his estate. (Prob. Records,<br />

97 JACOB STARLING (brother of the above), b. in <strong>Sterling</strong><br />

City, Mar. 3, 1744. " Jacob Starlin and Edey Tucker both of<br />

Lyme in New London County were Lawfully Married to each<br />

other on the 14 th Day of October, A. D. 1765 — by me John<br />

Lay 2nd Just. Pece." Jacob Starlin enlisted in the 1st Co., 6th<br />

Regt., Conn. Militia, under Col. Parsons, May 8, 1775, and served<br />

until expiration of term of service Dec. 18, 1775. This regiment<br />

remained on duty at New London until June 17, when it was<br />

ordered by the Governor's Council to the Boston camps. <strong>The</strong><br />

(Lyme Records.) His dau. Ann M. m. William J. Marvin (No. 1595). Another instance<br />

of the <strong>Sterling</strong> being adopted as a given name, although, so far as known, there<br />

was no family connection found in the Lyme records which state that Starling Rood<br />

m. Oct. 30, 1831, Olive Hurd.
