Serge Tchuruk.
A graduate of the École Polytechnique and a Weapons Engineer,
Mr. Tchuruk held various management positions with Mobil Corporation,
then with Rhône-Poulenc, where he was named Chief Executive Officer in
1983. He served as Chairman and CEO of CDF-Chimie/Orkem from 1986
to 1990, then as Chairman and CEO of TOTAL from 1990 to 1995.
In 1995, he became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alcatel.
Pierre Vaillaud.
A graduate of the École Polytechnique, a Mining Engineer and a graduate
of the École Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs, Mr. Vaillaud
worked as an Engineer with Technip and Atochem before joining TOTAL.
He served as Chief Executive Officer of TOTAL from 1989 to 1992, before
becoming Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Technip from 1992
to 1999, and of Elf Aquitaine from 1999 to 2000.
