Dr. Geoege Hendebson exhibited a coloured sketch <strong>of</strong> a<br />

wi<strong>the</strong>red leaf <strong>of</strong> Quercus incana, Roxb., and <strong>of</strong> slugs which ai'e<br />

found amongst <strong>the</strong> dead leaves. He stated that he had brought<br />

<strong>the</strong> drawing <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> mollusc and leaf to show <strong>the</strong>ir strange<br />

resemblance both in colour and outline. He found <strong>the</strong>se slugs<br />

common at Dalhousie in <strong>the</strong> Punjab, on ground which is always<br />

covered with <strong>the</strong> wi<strong>the</strong>red leaves <strong>of</strong> this oak. A few black slugs<br />

were to be found with <strong>the</strong> light-brown specimens, and whilst <strong>the</strong><br />

latter seemed to escape <strong>the</strong> notice <strong>of</strong> birds, <strong>the</strong> former were taken.<br />

He adduced some instances <strong>of</strong> animals changing colour in<br />

accordance with <strong>the</strong>ir environments.<br />

The Minutes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> last Meeting were read and confirmed.<br />

Mr. William Dennis, Mr. James Stuart Thomson, and Mr. Monague<br />

Frank Hopson were elected Fellows <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Society</strong>.<br />

In view <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> approaching Anniversaiy Meeting <strong>the</strong> Rev.<br />

Thomas R. R. Stebbing and Mr. George Sharp Saunders were<br />

elected by show <strong>of</strong> hands Auditors on behalf <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Council, and<br />

Mr. Horace W. Monckton and Mr. Charles Baron Clarke on <strong>the</strong><br />

part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Fellows.<br />

Mr. G. S. Saundehs exhibited living specimens <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Carnivorous<br />

Slug, TestaceUa haliotidea, which he bad received <strong>the</strong> previous day<br />

from Torquay.<br />

The following papers were read :<br />

1 . " The Ingolfiellidae, fam. nov. : a new type <strong>of</strong> Amphipoda."<br />
