Mr. AV. Satille Kent, F.L.S., exhibited transparencies and<br />

lantern-slides in a three-colour process <strong>of</strong> photographs <strong>of</strong> Fish<br />

and associated Fauna <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Polynesian Coral-reefs.<br />

The Yice-President in <strong>the</strong> Chair, Eev. T. E. E. Stebbing, and<br />

Mr. W. Carruthcrs contributed to <strong>the</strong> discussion which followed,<br />

and Mere replied to b}' <strong>the</strong> exhibitor.<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>. F. E. "Weiss, F.L.S., showed a section and an enlarged<br />

drawing <strong>of</strong> a section <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> root-tip <strong>of</strong> Li/f/i)iodend)'0)i oldhamium,<br />

a fossil Cjcad<strong>of</strong>ilix from <strong>the</strong> Lower Coal-Measures, displaying an<br />

extraordinary preservation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> young tissues.<br />

The Chairman having invited discussion, Dr. D. H. Scott and<br />

]\[r. Carru<strong>the</strong>rs spoke on <strong>the</strong> highly interesting character <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

section shown.<br />

Mr. H. J. Waddixgtox, F.L.S., placed on <strong>the</strong> table some cases <strong>of</strong><br />

prepared Crustacea, in series from <strong>the</strong> youngest to <strong>the</strong> fully adult<br />

state. The Eev. T. E. E. Stebbing and Pr<strong>of</strong>. C. Stewart referred<br />

to <strong>the</strong> remarkable excellence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> preparations ; and Mr.<br />

Waddington, in acknowledging <strong>the</strong> vote <strong>of</strong> thanks, stated that<br />

most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> credit was due to his wife, who was his most effectual<br />

helper.<br />
